Irene, I am glad you appreciated the article. I totally agree–capitalism and all its ills are crashing around us. Yet, those invested in the system continue to resuscitate it. For how long they can do this remains to be seen.

Hi Nicki — second attempt to write, my first disappeared, maybe it was sent to you. Great writing, I chose this article first, because of my work with jsj, and interested in your point of view. Yes, I so agree, with finding the cause. I take pride in not being a huge consumer of all this ridiculous material stuff. Live simply, so others my simply live. I use perhaps 3 products, that I just checked out for the 1-4, nature’s gate shampoo and conditioner, and kiss my face skin moisturizer, none had this indgredient. I use a crystal stone for deodarant. Anyways, capitalism rules the world, I believe it will change and the planet is reacting to this terrible lifestyle. It is shaking things up, market crash, extreme weather etc. ……… It is why I love Jin Shin Jyutsu, it goes to the cause, not the effect. Time to go……..love, irene

Sarah, that’s a great question, thanks for raising. While many women do report extreme gendered harassment and discrimination in the tech world, people really are more complex than stereotypes allow for.

I wonder if some of the perspectives taken in the comments here would be affected by Zuckerberg’s comments in interviews about the film that he was annoyed that the fact he had a girlfriend throughout most of his college career (and I think is still with her) was removed from the script. How much does the film deliberately play up to the stereotype of the geeky, dysfunctional male techie with all the implications that has for gender relations, rather than allowing for more complex relationships between gender, technology and society?
